Who Should Enroll

  • Dental Assistants or Hygienists working under a licensed Florida dentist
  • Delegating Dentists may register multiple assistants

Responsibilities of the Delegating Dentist

  • Validate the assistant’s registration
  • Review and approve pre-course materials
  • Submit clinical performance assessments from their office
  • Communicate with course admins as needed
  • Pay for the assistant’s enrollment

Responsibilities of the Assistant

  • Complete all online coursework and quizzes
  • Attend assigned in-person labs and clinicals
  • Participate in live-patient assessments
  • Pass the didactic and final exams

The RFDA training and certification course is proudly offered by The Florida Dental Association and is available to dental assistants and dental hygienists interested in expanding education and in-practice functions. The training and certification for the course is designed by FDA in partnership with state colleges offering a Code Of Dentistry Approved lab and includes virtual instruction and on-site clinical experience.

Student Requirements
  • Be employed as a licensed Dental Hygienist or a Certified Dental Assistant
  • Have performed over 2500 recorded clinical hours
  • Have a Sponsoring Dentist
  • Have valid certificates in OSHA 10 and Bloodborne Pathogens
